ABOUT OPERATION PROTECT AND DEFEND:
Operation Protect and Defend (OPD) promotes high school civics education with a focus on the U.S. Constitution and the role of the judiciary in a democratic society. This all-volunteer organization was founded over a decade ago when local judges, lawyers and teachers acted on their concern that civics education was not being emphasized in high schools. Every spring, OPD distributes a written curriculum to high school civics teachers and sends a judge and lawyer team into each classroom to engage in a dialogue with the students about the curriculum topic. To learn more about OPD and how you can volunteer, please visit OPD's website: http://www.opdcivics.org/. Thank you for your support of civics education.
